1. Comprehensive research of the terrorism phenomenon, informational and public technologies for prevention of and counter-action to terrorist or extremist activities.

Elaboration and performance of research, informational and analytical, expert and legal, organizational and applied, publishing, learning, training projects directed to achievement of new quality level of the international and the national security systems development.

Establishing relationships with international security systems, родственными public movements and state institutions in various countries for interaction, information technology and specialists exchange, providing international support to IAU initiatives on strengthening antiterrorism potential.

Informational, scientific, organizational and material support to legal and physical persons taking part in the researches, programs and projects on resistance to terrorism and extremism, in enforcement of the national security of Ukraine and the countries-participants, IAU members.

Facilitating establishment and development of contacts, setting up cooperation between law enforcement bodies and organizations in different countries dealing with protection of rights an antiterrorism.

2. Co-ordination of emerging and development of non-state component in the system of the national security of Ukraine.

Scientific and expert accompanying of complex programs connected to strategic directions of the national security, bringing forward civil initiatives on defining the internal and external state policy in this sphere.

Research and development of informational and public technologies ensuring prevention of and efficient resistance to terrorist and extremist manifestations in Ukraine.

Increasing the level of public awareness and legal consciousness as to threats of terrorism and extremism, promoting among citizens the active attitude of rejection of these phenomena in any demonstrations and forms.

Supporting the processes of self-organisation of entrepreneurs and public oranisations in the sphere of security of entrepreneurship and personality.

Working out scientific and educational programs, training and education of specialists in security of entrepreneurship and personality in the interests of entities of the national security.

3. Facilitating the construction of the new architecture of the national security based on well-balanced correlation between the state and non-state components.

Creating and implementation of technologies on fruitful social partnership between State and Society for the sake of strengthening the national security.

Development and realization of projects directed to support and organizational and legal accompanying of civil initiatives on creating the non-state security system, and, first of all, security of entrepreneurship.

Taking part in creating and functioning of mechanisms for coordinating activities of state and non-state structures in the sphere of the national security.

Initialization of projects for programs oriented to resolving the problems of adaptation and employment of the persons transferred to the reserve from Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Armed Forces.

4. Studying the factors of global development and their influence on terrorism and extremism, elaborating approaches to perfection of the world order.

Investigating contemporary globalization processes, their impact onto the state of the international and the national security.

Establishing contacts, scientific, informational and organizational interaction, co-operation and exchange with the leading research centers, institutions and specialists in the area of anti-terror, the international and the national security.

Working out recommendations concerning improvement of the international and the national legal basis on the issues such as international security, fighting against terrorism and criminal offences nourishing them.

Facilitating the drawing together of the countries', religious organizations' and particular competent figures' approaches to resolving the problems of fighting against terrorism and extremism.

Developing complex research programs and elaboration of projects and recommendations on contemporary civilization development.

5. Development and implementation of conceptual models of Civil society resistant to manifestations of terrorism and extremism.

Monitoring and analysis of the threats to the national security, revealing the sources of tension and conflict-generating situations, increase of legal and civil self-awareness.

Analysis of terrorogenic and criminogenic trends, development and realization of proposals on creating a climate of social isolation and non-acceptance of radical worldview bearers.

Development of mechanisms and creating technologies of inclusion of civil society into counteraction to terrorism.

Organising and implementing efficacious public control over the country national security system as an important element for the emerging of civil society.

Developing the methods for efficient use of native and international legal resources for protection from rude encroachments on vital interests, rights and freedoms of personality.
